Derived from volcanic ash, this is food-grade Sodium Bentonite Clay. Bentonite Clay is silica-based and is colloidal in nature, meaning the particles suspend in liquid without breaking down or dissolving, and therefore does not get digested.
Bentonite Clay is mined in Wyoming and Montana. Mining practices are designed to keep out impurities and uses food-grade equipment. The clay is kiln-dried, milled, and screened to size.
